This speed bag platform is manufactured sufficiently well for light/home use. You’re never going to see one of these installed at a serious boxing gym, it will never hear Rocky’s glorious accent. What it can do is give you something to work with at home or help a new/aspiring boxer (the younger variety) get their feet wet… er… hands.The bag is sufficiently springy when hit. The swivel moves ok. I added a little white lithium grease quiet and smooth it out a little. Don’t use too much or it’ll drip on the bag.Installation is straightforward, but you have to know what you’re doing. This isn’t hanging a picture. You’re going to attempt to beat the snot out of this thing on a somewhat regular basis. You absolutely must hit two studs or install into concrete. I suppose if you have a 3/4 plywood wall that would work, too.It doesn’t have to be 100% level, but you’ll want to get it dialed in as best as possible. Use a level. Find the studs or hire someone who can. A handyman can install this thing in less time than their minimum charge will cover.It’s made a little like the folding tables they have at my kid’s school. A particleboard sheet with a laminate top and rubber edging. Sturdy enough, but don’t punch the board!The wood is easily replaced if you need it smaller or a different shape. What you’re really paying for here is all the custom bracketry and hardware. The wood and bag are easily changed. The bag is actually a consumable, you’ll need another one eventually.
